Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everybody! I just love the beginning of a new year! It is fresh, sparkly and new and brimming with wonderful opportunities. It is a special time where we can reflect on and be grateful for the year that has passed and look forward to beautiful experiences ahead!

Over at ARTastic, there is a new scrappy challenge to enjoy! This month, our inspiration will come from "Luncheon of the Boating Party" by Renoir.

Here are the details...
For an extra 6 bonus points try and work the following into your layout;
1. Scrap a celebration - 1pt
2. Three or more people in the layout - 2pts
3. Food somewhere on the layout - 3pts

My layout is called "Sweet". This was a lovely challenge and I thought the extra criteria were fantastic! I scrapped a photo of my girls and my Mum while we celebrated Caitlyn's birthday... she is the one without the crown. I have all of the criteria covered - three people, a celebration and I have food (cupcakes) on the gorgeous Webster's paper. I added some pretty flowers too. I really enjoyed having some time to scrap again! Thanks for stopping by! xxx

1. Angel/s - 1pt
2. Gold embossing (somewhere on the page) - 2pts
3. A stable - 3 pts

I found this month to be challenging, but once I got the stable and embossing sorted, it was all systems go with the flowers and papers! Here is an image of the Botticelli and my take on the challenge. Thanks for stopping by! xxx

November ARTastic Inspiration

A new month has rolled around so quickly! Over at ARTastic, there is a fabulous challenge happening this month. November's inspiration will come from the painting 'The Beach' by Chris Wake, so it is time to get those family beach holiday photos out!

Diva Demand - For an extra 6 bonus points try and work the following into your layout;
1 pt - Either a sandcastle, bucket and spade or beach towel
2 pts - A few seagulls
3 pts - A family beach photo or similar

Here is my DT example for the month. I used a photo of my girls at our local beach - such a pretty photo of sisterly love! I kept the layout in soft white and off white tones like the background of the painting. I included a scalloped arch as the painting background had a hint of this shape too. I have also used the colours of the swimming costumes of the people in the painting for the main flower - white, red and black. Hope to see you over at ARTastic this month! xxx

A Few More Cards

Lending A Hand

I have been making heaps of card bases lately and now that we are back from holidays, I can take out my tags, flowers and bling and embellish them all! Here are a few cards I made last week... the first one is an engagement card and the others will go toward the stash of cards I will be donating.

My hubby is supporting Youthcare who assist young people in the area who are homeless or in temporary accommodation. He even got his class fundraising and they all got into the local magazine! One way I have been helping is to make cards (with a stamped envelope) so these people can send word to loved ones.

Grow

Here is a layout I completed a little while ago, but I hadn't popped it up on my blog yet... The photo was taken while we were on holidays at Port Macquarie. We stopped at this amazing lighthouse with the most breathtaking ocean views and we happily took photos for quite some time. Great News!

I have some great news to share... I have been invited back to the ARTastic Challenge Blog as part of their DT team! This is so exciting for me and I am thankful to Shazza for her support this year. She has written a lovely post about my scrapping *blush* and you can check it out here. This month at ARTastic the inspirational painting is 'The Card Sharpes' by Carravaggio.
The added criteria are;
1. A playing card (1 point)
2. Brown tones (2 points)
3. A feather (3 points)
You can find all of the details here. My layout is called 'Fun Times'. I was inspired by the people in the painting playing a game and thought these photos of my daughter hitting golf balls would suit nicely. I added different of shades of brown in the papers, flowers, ribbon, pearls and bling. I have a playing card in the flower cluster, but I didn't have any feathers in my stash to add to the layout. Thanks for sharing in my wonderful news! xxx

Carefree

Can you tell I am on school holidays? I am scrapping and blogging my heart out! Here is a layout of Miss C having some fun on her scooter. I cannot believe I took this photo in January... it only seemed like a few weeks ago. I actually had to re-check the date on the camera! Enchanted has a cybercrop this weekend and this is what I came up with for one of the challenges.
Hope you are having a fab day! xxx
