Birthday Index Cards

This morning I finished a set of birthday index cards that I have been working on over the past few days. I made this for my MIL for Mother's day. The step by step was created by Deanne at the LSBS. You can find more info here

The cards are cream IRL, although they have green tinge in the photo. I love stamping and layering flowers and embellishments, so this was a beautiful project to work on. I have set the eyelets, so I can pop them on a ring and add some ribbon, ready to send.
Thank you for the wonderful inspiration Deanne!

Black and White Card Set

Good afternoon! I was lucky enough to have some time today to make a set of cards for the current LSBS inspirational challenge.
You can find all of the info here

Here is the card set that I made for the challenge! I had so much fun making these cards, especially embellishing and layering the flowers. They will become Mother's Day and Birthday cards.

I also caught up with Shan and Kerryn at my LSS. They were at a crop, so I stopped by for a chat and a shop. They are such lovely and funny ladies! I am looking forward to the next time I can crop with them again!

ANZAC Day

I am very proud to be an Australian! I am thankful for those who have fought in the past and continue to serve today for the safety of our nation and its people. Seeing the dawn services and marches throughout the day (on TV) was fantastic and when the girls are a little older we would like to attend dawn services too. Caitlyn's primary school had a lovely service yesterday morning. I think over the past few years there has been a revival of interest in the ANZAC story and the legacy it leaves us today. There seems to be more media coverage and I think that is a really positive indication that the ANZAC spirit will live on.

Toffee Apples

Today I wanted to share a little album that I made. The challenge was to create and scrapbook a Paperbag Album. This challenge was created by Bella at the LSBS. As you can probably tell, there are no paper bags in sight! The supermarket didn't have any, so I improvised and bought some pre-printed manilla folders. I have cut one folder in half, taped them together with the patterned side showing and scrapped away! These photos show Caitlyn and I enjoying toffee apples. I love the bright colours in the photos and the embellishments and I was also able to play with my new Autumn Leaves stamps! Thanks for looking!

Today I Am Thankful

Today I am thankful for the lovely ladies over at the Little Scrapbook Shop for allowing me to link to their blogs and making this blog newbie look a little bit more popular! LOL... I have to say over at LSBS I am in good company with extremely talented, creative and inspirational ladies! The gallery is always full of beautiful cards layouts too!
Thank you for the lovely comments you have all left for me... it has made my blogging experience that much better!
I can see why blogging is addictive, I was up in the middle of the night thinking about what I can add to my page! I am looking forward to reading blogs and leaving comments too.

Quote for today, just because I feel like it!

Simple Pleasures

This is my first post so I wanted to make it special!
Lately I have been thinking about the simple day to day things that make me smile... the simple pleasures in my home, my family and in my life. I have begun a list and I am hoping to create a little scrapping layout in my journal. Here are a few of my simple pleasures...

Rainy days
Sleeping in
A nice glass of port
Hugs and snuggles from the girls
Fresh flowers in the kitchen
Taking photos
Reading a scrapbook magazine

Once you start to think about it, there is alot to be thankful for!
